You, marty, beyond and many others are all part of Motorcycling's cancer.
you're making some pretty big assumptions there mate.

you need to get out of your sphere of concern, and into your sphere of influence a little more.

Hey, if you're not a cop - no problem (other than it still being a "look how fast I can ride" video). I did only say I thought you were.

If you actually are a cop then I would suggest it was somewhat unwise (and highly hypocritical) of you to post that video.

Dammit.. I can't keep up... so epic fail is out now?

As for the vids, I don't watch them. Its not my thing. I guess the risk can be quite high if it is taken in an urban environment. For example, I am a father and know how fast my little ones can get away from me and be twenty meteres away in the blink of an eye. That could be on the road or even the verge out in the country. At the speed some of those guys are riding they wouldn't even see the little one let alone be able to do anything.

So I guess if you are going to do something like that, be aware of the risk you are to yourself and others.

I can't imagine someone posting videos like beyond or other members wouldn't accept the risk but even though they do, katman isn't going to. Not criticizing that but I do wonder why he even bothers posting the same stuff to certain members over and over...

I dont have a problem with that video, The speed sign says 100kph We cant tell if the towm on was reduced down to 60-70kph. Watching the background and looking out the back of your vech there isnt anything to show he is speeding Watched out the back of those dam unimogs and landrovers enough when I was in the service.
He never overtook on yellow lines.... He did come back on one
He did slow right down in the town.
I googled Earth on the Scotsman Valley Rd and it looks like a nice road to ride.
I honestly dont see what the problem is on this video.
He didnt even cut the corners.
If you are behind meDont ask as I am lost too.

I know what sort of speed a Hayabusa is likely to be doing when pulling those sort of revs.

And it wouldn't be too hard to work out the speed by counting the seconds between each power pole flashing by. If his speed is anywhere near 100kph I'll retract everything I've said about the video.

Ya don't have to watch it.

Besides, I'll never have the balls to break 120.
I have a problem with people directly linking speed with danger. 100k/hr on the open road can be down right dangerous in the wrong conditions. Would you feel better if we just went out for weekend rides and did what we do and didnt record it. Sweep it under the carpet and it didnt happen?

I didnt see anything wrong with that video either. Again, there is alot the camera doesnt see that the rider does. Did you see the looking both ways at the give way sign to be sure nothing was coming before pulling out. No. Because the video doesnt show that. The camera misses even more when it is facing backwards.

Same is to be said for the "hidden dangers" I am sure that if you saw a kid on the side of the road playing you would have slowed till passed. 'Hidden dangers' dont happen 10 feet in front of you. they happen 300m away and a 'safe' rider will make note of them long before they get to it and react accordingly.

FWIW, I have more respect for Katman than alot of peeps round here. At least he speaks up about what concerns him instead of resorting to personal attacks and adding stupid taglines in the dark.

Its just a shame hes wrong.

Nearly all men can stand adversity and hard time, but if you want to test a mans true character, give him power....

Can anyone tell me off hand the standard spacing between power poles in rural areas? (If there even is one).
