I cleaned my bike once after I brought it home, because wrapping my legs around other people's road spooge just feels wrong.

Since then, I've been carefully cultivating its growing patina of grime. It keeps the fasteners on.

I go through stages where I want it spotless an then I get real slack an don't touch it,then I get the guilts an shine it up again.
One problem is that I spray the bits that collect rust with LPS 3.
This stuff is a heavy duty rust preventitive wax that dust collects on like shite to a blanket.I don't mind it because I know it protects what's under it, but it looks like bike hasn't had a clean in years.
I cleaned it all off this weekend an polished everything with Turtle wax "Ultra gloss".Looks mint now but a bit of rust will pop up an out will come the LPS 3 again.
    Can't bloody win huh. :spudwhat:

My bikes get a good clean and light polish whenever I return from a longish ride, find mud on the exhausts, or before going on a club run or rally.

In between I give the bike a quick wash (just detergent and water) any time it looks like it needs it.

I only give it a really good going over about every 3rd or 4th clean.

I ride every day through the week and at the moment with the weather and the bloody road works on my way to work me bikes' underside stays pretty dirty, until the weekend when I give her a good wash, polish and lube.
I like to give her a good clean before embarking on a weekend ride or any ride with other bikers...hate seeing bikes looking un-loved. But sometimes keeping yer bike clean means just about wearing the paint off washing it twice daily!

Clean it whenever it looks very dirty!

I mean a bike is a lot smaller than a cage, so it doesn't take long to clean it eh?

You've got to be kidding. A complete clean for a bike takes hours.
