I know exactly how you feel. I got pinged for 100km/h too. And the truth remains, you DID exceed the speed limit by 30km/h, and as the saying goes, if you do the crime, you pay the fine.

The day before my big roadtrip ever was when I got the ticket, and that wasn't going to slow me down. Auckland to Rotorua, 79.9km/h, scariest two days of my life. Still alive, after many changes of underwear.

I've got just under a month until I can get my restricted, and on that day, that L plate will be TOAST! (L plate burning ceremony and drinks!)

You just didn't bother reading what had been written earlier in the thread or...?

As for all the advice about claiming that the L-plate fell off. If you can't make an L-plate stick to your bike in a manner so that it doesn't fall off, I don't think you would rate high on the kiwi-ingenuity scale!
Honestly, if I was a cop and someone tried to pull that kind of bullshit I'd throw the book at them as well.

Well, we'd best be happy you're not a cop, eh?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

No matter how happy you might be about it, I'm happier...

One of the reasons I generally respect the cops is simply that they are doing a job I'd never want to do.
