    Suicidal rabbit

Pokuru Road this morning, narrow and hilly.....in the fog.....behind a line up of three cars...fortunately with a decent space between myself and the car in front......after the three cars go past but before I go past, a rabbit decides he wants to be on the other side of the road....comes blasting out of the long grass and rockets across right in front of the bike.......I didn't even have time to react but missed him by maybe two metres.....which gave him about 0.07 of a second's leeway.....I just bet he was shitting himself...coz I was.....

Went on he SATNR last night and sneaked away early from the pub at Mercer and came home via Mangatawhiri, Ararimu and Hunua. It was getting dark, which was part of the attraction, at least it was until I found a gaggle of ducks in the middle of the road. There were about 20 of them and I have no idea why they chose to settle on the road.

They were well inside headlight range before I could see them, just as they went airbourne.
Stopping wasn't even vaguely an option and there was no way I could dodge them all. I took one out with my left shoulder at about 100 kph.
    It Fkn hurt.

I'm OK this morning, it's a great day and so I take the bike to work via the semi scenic route.
Just south of the Whitford golf course, I encounter some @##$%&*** oncoming, on (I think) a black speed triple overtaking on a blind brow and double yellows.
It wasn't desperately close (maybe a meter in it) but I would like to send him/her my dry cleaning bill. If I had been in the car it was a fatal for sure and maybe both of us.

They say that this stuff comes in threes

Good thing I'm not superstitious, eh?
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

i ride alot on country roads in hunua, the other night about to enter a nice left corner that i tend to always put the gas on for a bloody great big possum wanders out on the road, tell you what my eyes went as big as his, waiting for the earth sky earth sky painful body experience to happen. but to my surprise he shot back in to the bush he came from.

i still cant pull my undies out of my ass
I've learnt to hide the pain inside, open the throttle and ride away.

I hit a duck at 10-20kph... Coming into a corner in Laingholm, really slow twisty bits, see a duck waddle out from the side of the road...

Surely its going to move aye? Well, I kept swearing that, kept slowing down, until I ran it over... no... it didn't move.

My mate who was pillion swore that we were going to crash when he saw the duck on the road... lovely... so much confidence and faith
