Oooooh nice! I got my Raptor in Hastings, caught the bus down there and rode it back it! Even SH1 was quite fun being on a big bike for the first time!

I haven't slept since I bought the damn thing six months ago - lying awake thinking about mounting her the next day or what the next mod's gonna be.

    Peer pressure? Bah!

They said "Buy a Jappa" I bought an Italian.
They said "Go liquid cooled" I bought air cooled
They said "Get a litre bike" I got a 600
They said "you need at least 100hp" I got 53
They said "go fuel injected" I got carburettas
They said "Get 4 valves per cylinder" I got 2 valves per cylinder (albeit huge big Desmodromic ones though!)

So do I wish I had got a Suzuki? Naaaaaaah.

    Enjoy yer new bike :2thunbsup:

    Cheers guys.

I've been trying not to think about it just yet because I won't get anything done for the next week. This week's gonna be hell.

RAT membership has been free for all bikes for a while now. If you aren't a member, just go to the Triumph NZ site and click through RAT to the membership form (down for maintenance right now). You will need the VIN of your bike.

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"

Haha. Imagine a Track Day and 1/4 mile sprints in the first 1000km just to get it ready!

I fucked the last one. This one needs to last a looooong time yet!

Don't nana it tho or you'll do worse damage. Bogging is the WORST thing you can do to a new engine.

Don't cane her with full throttle but don't be scared to use the whole RPM range. Build up to it over the first 100-200km (or follow the manual if it's very specific). Think of it like scrubbing tyres. You don't go to full lean straight away but you want to work up to it.

Make sure you use all the gears and don't stick at any one RPM too long. If you're on straights etc either speed up and slow down a lot or drop into 5th then 4th then 5th then 6th etc.
