    Hmm Taupo....
Was kinda thinking about it, but after the international MX no freaking way, the weather is the killer, I'd go back home to Southland if I wanted that wind, I reckon everything else is in it's favour though, big enough to live in, close enough to Auckland and Wellington & skiing, escape to Napier/Rotorua, only 4 flights a day from the airport is a bit of a pain, but same as up here really.

    What about around Pukekohe.

A lifestyle change would be nice. Taupo has got a lot to offer. Biking, boating and fishing. Based on that I'd pick Taupo. How many traffic lights are there in Taupo now?
But at the end of the day it's about the job prospects and the level of creature comforts you're happy with, other than Auckland don't know where else you can get a decent job in NZ?

COME on hamilton has plenty of riding, good and bad areas just like dorkland less the huge traffic jams, most large citys about an hour away, lived here 20 years had no problem with stuff being stolen, taupo is good BUT..bloody COLD in winter....or how about mangakino i just so happen to have a cosy little 2 bedroom pad for sale there cheap as chips

After living in every major city in NZ, Wev'e settled in Wellington. Kapiti coast to be exact. 5 mins from the best 24/7 riding area ive seen in NZ (free to) and 3 mx tracks / bike parks / beachs also within 20 mins either direction. Sand or hardpack - your mood dictates what your keen for on any given day...

No traffic hassles here (I commute 60k's a day, 30 min's each way) and a city that actually is progressive and freindly. Best nightlife ive seen in NZ.
Highest good looking grrrl ratio in nz too (fact!).
Low blockhead/munter/mongrel ratio (apart from kezzafish and myself)..
The weather is on par with the rest of the country. Its not as bad as everyone likes to make out.

If you enjoy 'vibrancy' (new agey saying). This is one awsome place.

Last time I was in aucks', I went for a walk along queen st saturday night and boy... it was dead - a few idiots about, but man it sucked. Just no life there. Aucklands seregated bigtime. Too damn spread out.

After living there for seven years, then moving here i wondered why the hell I stayed up there for so long...

Yes, the difference is that noticable....

LOL if we are going to start mud slinging I'll crack into your lack of punctuation.

What got me started was Kat and I were away for most of last week and just really enjoyed being out of the rat race. I have to admit I loved the traffic in Gissy. I just think that the place is too small and would drive me nuts. It just sucks to spend at least 40 mins on a good day to get to work and then on average 40mins - 1 hour to get home. I'd rather work for less and work overtime and end up with probably the same money. And its pretty stink when you only get to spend 1 hour with Jack each day.

at 4.30 this morning i drove past 6 cars on the way to work. (taka to albany)

    start early is the answer.

(but then some days you get to work at 4.30 stand there for 10mins wondering where you are and how you got there)

Just had my bankcard pinched from my letterbox, few hundy gone but luckily the bank wore it. And a car pinched from Bunnings car park when my son took it to work! Crime is turning Dorkland to shit real quick!!

I'm a Wellingtonion and Kapiti Coast (and Wellington)is real nice (accept the weather)!! But finding work in Kapiti in your field might be a problem. Still got a real good mate there whose son is in the top 6ish in MX. Less Sheep though!
Hamilton, nice place by the looks of it!! Big enough to be ok, small enough to be, not Auckland! You can ride all the Mr moto stuff and Kimis and Thunder still. Less Sheep here too though!

Your just getting itchy feet cause of those prats at your work, look for another job closer to home then move if your still unhappy after that!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

Na its more than just my current job. I'm just thinking about my options. I think I'd like to go to Wellington too, but my wife hates the place. Not really any Family nearby either. The other reason for moving would be to be closer to Family. Might just wing it and rent my house out and go be a Bum. Go pick some Apples in Napier!!! LOL

Ha im an ex wellingtonian as well, i was born there lived in lyall bay and kilbirnie till i was about 30, then moved to hamilton , wellingtons ok ..except for the ..SOUTHERLIES
and all the hills and narrow streets and it seems to have heaps of cyclists furiously pedling against those southerlies
But when i was down there last a few months ago it looks like you can ride the south coast now, we use to sneek in there, past the quarry when i was a teenager great ride around that south coast

    nakiville mate.
always different place to ride and as for closures of tracks from neighbours complaining.
well no neighbour has survived to make it to court.
maybe hill hiks down here but friendly hiks and lifestlye wannabe farmers will get lynched if any complain.
shit load of tracks , trails , dirty bitches ( only cheating if you are caught)
couple of great mx bike mechanics that are too bloody cheap and should charge more for their expertise.
not sure what your line of work is but fair bit of work i think .
close to surfing, snow boarding, ridng, whaga pub rd,
now that i think about it i really do love this place
