It is a personal choice, but I would hate to come across a rider down who didnt have gear on!!

I personally ride with all the gear need to get a summer jacket or something tho cuz totally roast in summer even without the liner in it

    not i,
i just got my first pair of leathers this month.
thats after 26 years as a licenced rider.
somehow the worst injury was bruised feet after hitting a strainer post, still on the bike but on it's side.
i was a fool in the early day's too,2 spills at a ton+.also many others.
guess i've just been REALLY fortunate.

When I see someone with a pudding basin helmet, t-shirt, shorts, whatever, I immediately think "Man you look cool, James Dean stylin' and you're in control of your ride and that's a great look"

Sorry, I meant to say "You're a poseur and a fool to yourself and the people who love you and depend on you" and if it goes bad for you on the road it's going to go really fucking bad.

And when I see a rider with all the gear I know he gives proper thought to his riding and his safety. Respect. Why give the bloody cagers the percentage over you. They've got it all over us already so why make it easier for them to kill you?

So when you have your tennis gear on, or whatever, and a guy goes past you the other way with all the gear he will see you but he will also think you are:

    1. A noob
    2. Dangerous to himself
    3. Immature in his riding behaviour.

And all that crap about rules for group riding a few days ago. "When your wingman goes to overtake you must go with him," even though you can't see where he's leading you or what shit-storm is going to come down on your head in the next half second due to his incompetence and bullshit, macho, stick with the group attitude.

The day I follow someone, the day I trust their judgement over my own, is the day I give the game away.

    Hmmm...
Here's a random(ish) photo from my recent travels.
Some bikers in Churmany on a very warm late summer day.

Ja, ja - that's right: they're Churmans, so that doesn't count.

Every day at the moment I do 70kph on two wheels in traffic, to all intents and purposes naked.

It kinda recalibrates ATGATT paranoia on the motorcycle.

Probably not as much as all that 'getting shot at' shit did for Sarge, though.

Perspective is a funny old thing.

But it puts our rego costs up with the ACC levy!!! All those skin grafts don't come cheap ya know.

Personally it pisses me of for that reason x 4 bikes and the strain on our medical system for things that are not essential if the gear was worn.
