    Sadly... things change

I've been a member of Kiwibikers for a few years now.
Everyone I've met I've enjoyed their company and what they have to say.

It's inevitable that you meet people of a like mind that ride at a similar pace without discomfort that you get on with really well and get to see on a regular basis.

I'm not discounting the people that you ride with from time to time that you really like and there are many of them but there are some that you click with and ride with regularly that form a core group.

Over the last year I'm sad to say that our core group has fizzed a little. No fault of them or me but circumstances change and that changes the dynamics of things.

I'm sure some of the people I bring up won't mind what I have to say. For the first time in months I ride alone and it makes me want to sell my bike. I'm a social creature and I love the company of those I meet and to loose there company on rides has really hit home over the last few months. It's not that I ride harder with them when they are around because the fact is I rode a lot harder when they aren't around.
    Logistics:

Enigma51: Bloody good bloke and lot's of fun and a great rider who gives his GSXR750 stick but knows how to do it safely. He's tuned his bike for track and seldom goes road so I can't remember when I last rode with him. I miss his company.

Boomer: Another good bloke and lots of fun who knows how to enjoy life and his bike. For those who don't know he's fighting cancer and had to sell his bike. Bloody good guy who knows how to ride and knows the cost of selling his pride and joy to cover bills. Shit....I miss my rides with him I hope he reobounds and comes back with another machine so we will ride again.

Barbender: Another awesome gentle giant who would do anything for you if you needed it and is there for you. Awesome guy who nearly tempted me to buy his super cheap fully tricked ZX14. Oh how close I came. He traded it and bought an Aprilia Tuono which just happend to crap itself and put him off the road for weeks on end. I miss my rides with him too and hope he gets his machine together soon.

Owner: Now overseas travelling with his other half on a motorbike. Hope he has fun and he better get his arse back here for some rides with yours truly

Sixpackback: Recently had a knee op and hasn't been out that much. Real nice guy and his misssus is super friendly too (in a nice way...don't get that wrong) Miss his tagging along on rides and in fact he's the main suspect in the Raglan ride vid behind me on Youtube (beyondkiwi...my username)

Josh...Fishslayer.. sold his bike to go overseas with his other half who is pretty hot too. Miss my rides with them as well.

There's many peeps I like and get on with that I don't get to ride with much:
    DMNTD
    Saul
    Kiwifruit
    Affman
    Stify
    Puddy
    Kornholio
    Gixser
    Scouse
UKsteve and on the list goes.

Funny how you meet people and enjoy their compnay and hardly ever see them again????

I love riding but much rather prefer riding with those I enjoy the company of.
Melancholy moment...I suppose but I miss my riding buddies

I tend to ride alone.. i guess im not much of a social butterfly really.. comes from the Service i suppose..i do catch a run with a few guys sometimes but no real "group"

i like to ride at my own pace and that varies every time i put the stand up.. sometimes balls-out.. then i stop for a smoke and just poodle along looking at the scenery after that..

i did manage to run up against a Busa a few weeks ago south of the bombays.. felt a bit froggy and jumped on his tail and saw the high side of 150 MPH (the 'Ace is in Imperial)

if it would have been 5 minutes before or after.. i may have let him go...

to cut the ramble short.. i dont want to be responsible for holding up the group or for someone assing off and into the Armco by trying to keep up with me when i am in "that" mood.. so i ride alone and i think i prefer it that way

there are a few guys i never miss an opportunity to ride with.. Big Dave, MDU, and a few others.. but i dont trust too many

EDIT : might be an FJ thing too..as i have just been informed... (bwahaha)

Those violins are much too big.

Some of my "guys" died. Some gave up. Some have had a change in circumstances, and my life suddenly got really busy.

Being Nigel no mates got to me too. Briefly.

I soon realised that I needed to get used to my own company and there's no better way to do that than a bike.

We can't have everything we want when we want it, and we need to enjoy what we have, right now.

Shit guys, I never meant this in the negative.

Knowing other people is what makes life and riding them with makes it even better.
Sure i can ride alone and get used to it but I much prefer riding with others that I know and enjoy the company of. Man, is that a crime?????

not at all Beyond.. i think the thing that turned me off groups is just what you described,.. changing situations and such..i used to run with about 10 guys back home and we did EVERYTHING together.. we grew up in the same neighborhood..same schools..etc..knew these guys for decades..better than their mothers did..

we gradually drifted apart and i think i personally just find it hard to connect with most people like that.. (there are a few that i connect with, but not many)
