Cool Sadness I today felt for an old 400cc!!!

My oldest today came to claim his NV400. We did some minor adjustments and he thanked me then rode her away...

After thousand odd k's (see the blog entry) I had become strangely attached to this 20yo Japanese 400cc bike. Is'nt that weird! I had only taken her out one short run yesterday after I got the new tyre fitted to make sure all was fine and now suddenly I wished I had been riding her more in the 3 days since I got back from my trip.

You do need to consider that I have most of my life been a very staunch non-jappa rider and there was a time in my life I would rather have been walking then sitting on something made by the yellow man.

But somehow I felt that she was now part of me. We had a eventful few days that we shared and conquered with our pride intact.

Perhaps I am just getting mushy in my older days. But I asked him to treat her well as she is a very nice and reliable girl (and sadly there is a lack of them in my life...)

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Reminds me of the time I got a right big snotball in my mouth the time i had a cold this winter, and I went to try and spit it out after opening my visor. Chinguards can be misleading.
