    I used VIR. https://www.vir.co.nz/ - oddly enough.
There may be something more comprehensive for vehicles with more 'history'.

Sure if there is, someone'll let you know

    Can't beat www.VIR.co.nz $30 bucks from memory

all the history, owners, past plates, odo alerts, damage alerts from the border etc and obviously "money owing"

oh..and that txt service doesb't work 'cos it doesn't check past plates, and you can't see if it's been owned by "Roll'em and Bowl'em Biker Wreckers" or similar
It wasn't me, it was like that when I found it. Honest.

Thumbs up The best and cheapest way

    http://www.carjam.co.nz/

Check out the web site carjam - all you need it the plate number and you pay $12 and get a security check to see if any monies owing on it, check all the numbers, get odometer history and ownership history - all at once.

I've used and very happy with results

As you can see there are a few different ways - I always use VIR as its also a legal document that will hold up in court if need be.

Recommend checking this with the other options. In my mind $30 is bloody cheap piece of mind.

One bike I looked at had a faulty odometer replaced at 10,000 kms this was obvious from the readings history and I wouldn't have known otherwise.

My cousins bike showed up financing oweing on a bike that he wanted to buy. No problems told the buyer he wanted to know what the balance was, had 2 cheques made out 1 for the finance company the balance for the seller. Too Easy.

.... back in green and feeling great ....

    Forget vir.co.nz.

Use http://www.carjam.co.nz/. You get to see odometer / wof / reg details for free, and the report is available for $12, and includes the same information as the VIR. At VIR they just rip you off harder.
