Well it happened.
And I gotta be thankful as it was just outside my driveway. I look back at all the contributing factors and think 'thank you motor gods' I was seriously looked after. What happened?
I rushed.
I was going for a ride with a guy who I thought quite experienced, and a bit crazy, pulled out of the drive in an unfamiliar fashion -wide, then onto the other side of the road where I seen the drain at the side of the road and couldn't get my bloody focus off it. Also had a change of handle bars this morning too. I've only been riding for 4 weeks but reckon I really like my old bars now. I did before but, now I want the others back more so.
I understand the handle bars are not a major factor (not a huge change) but a factor none the less.
So there we have me riding into a concrete, rain water drain, thankfully not fast as I don't have decent protective pants, got a nice graze on my knee and hip and my very pretty helmet has a graze too. I LOVE my gloves!!!! My poor bike got a graze on the front guard and we had to tighten up the ignition switch.
Bit of a bloody fright I tell ya.
Again I gotta say thanx motor gods, I have the memory playing over and over
and yep, got back on and went for a little ride over the Port Hills after that. Otherwise it may have taken me a week.
