Parking ticket - North Shore Hospital

    Time for a rant
    I am fucked off
went to see a fellow biker at Northshore hospital to see how hes holdn up after clipping a car and peeling the skin of his calf.
I parked out front to the side on the foot path way out of the way of any one walking on the path.
After visting fellow biker i arrive back to my bike only to see a parking infringement notice inside one of those clear invoice windows STUCK to the air box cover (buells have their fuel tanks in the frame) i took a couple of pics with my phone as proof in case it causes any damage.
I look towards the carpark only to see a traffic parking building with someone in their, so me in my wisdom thought fuck this, lets have a we chat, i go up to the door to see this old bloke meeting me at the door ,i kindly asked if he had put that note on my bike to which he replies yes and added to this that i should not have parked on the footpath, to which i replied mate i should not have parked on the foot path but did you stick that fuckn note to my bike, his reply was yes to which i am now asking are you going to pay for the repaint of my bike after i pull the plastic window off the paint of my bike to which the old bloke was still havin a go for parking on the footpath which warrants him stickin this bloody plastic invoice window the the air box of my bike, my reply mate you might not keep this practice up or you will be wearing the fuckn plastic window.
    Is this common?

Why didn't you just park in the allocated motorcycle parking?

Ingeneous way of ensuring the ticket does not blow away I guess, hope the paint is ok too. Heaps of bike parking there though surely?

Same thing happened years ago to me. I saw the parking dude walking away from my bike after sticking the ticket to the tank. I called him back and asked 'him' to remove it, he wouldn't so I insisted he get his boss here. He showed up and agreed with me that it was an inapropriate place to stick the notice (they stick them to windscreens on cages) and removed it himself without damage. Fair play I deserved the ticket but not to have it stuck on your fukin tank!
Can you imagine the fukin stink a cage driver with pride in his ride would cause if they stuck these things on his bonnet!!!!!!!!

The parking warden is just doing his job. He has likely been told to stick the infringement notice to your bike.

If you want to have a go at somebody, then have a go at his boss.

De solve it is your friend. It should remove the sticky residue without causing damage. Test a bit of paint under the tank first though.

So is that a ticket or a warning. And does that say $160.00. I'd have a quick check that they are authorised to issue that. If he's the contractor for the carpark (and I'm assuming they have a contractor) then I'd be checking to see if he can wander off and issue tickets for parking eslewhere.

It is common for bikes to park on paths and many councils etc turn a blind eye. If you're going for a letter, ask for them to pass on the notice on this basis and the sticker on the tank.

Just out of curiosity was there any signs saying you couldn't park there?

    _______________________

The worst parking ticket i got was no ticket just a notice in the mail. I rang ACC and said i got no ticket and I was sitting in the coffee shop and no one put a ticket on my bike. She then asked if it was a rainy day. It was. She then told me that often i rainy days they will stand out of the rain and write tickets for a bunch of vehicles. It's possible I rode off before they walked over to the vehilce and put the ticket on. It seemed a regular thing. I'm thinking "what?". My view is if they choose not to give you a ticket because they want to stay dry at some doorway across the road then i shouldn't have to pay.

In your case I'd still be arguing it's common for bikes to park on the footpath when they are not impedding use and without the signs you expected they would treat you as the local council does.

Good luck with getting of the ticket. It looks like they have called it a first offence. What do you get for a second.

    1. Find the boss's car.
    2. Superglue is your friend.
