they already have tons of power, what you want is able to use all the power it already has, so in turn suspension is your first port of call, to help bike handle and get that all that power down.

Change the gearing, down one at the front, or up a couple at the back

change the exhaust and change sprockets. Go minus 1 on front sprocket and see how that is. Cost about $50. Then you will have better pick up. then if that not enough pickup go plus 2 on rear sprocket. (Wheelie central)
    Or get a power commander.

Lose weight (rider's or the bike's). Every kilogram lost is worth some power gained.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

This is the best answer here.

Not only that but it also translates to better turning and better braking which are just as worthwhile...

On a side note: why the fuck would you want more power out of an R1?? Spend your money on shit hot tyres and learn how try use SOME of that immense power I say.

The best performance mod for a bike has to be rider weight loss....
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.

    just did some calculations

    260kg r1 including 80kg rider with 150hp = 1.74 ratio....

    257.5 kg r1 uncluding 77.5kg rider with 150hp = 1.7 ratio...

    260kg r1 including 80kg rider with 153hp= 1.7 ratio...

so lose just 5kg of weight over you and the bike... gain 3hp.... and 5kg advantage in braking and turning.... Unless you are a squid of course...
...Full throttle till you see god, then brake.
