I looked at one of these before going the KTM way. These are nice machines, oldies but goodies...
Bet you get a good range out of these too...

Thinking of including a couple of those aluminium drink bottles in my panniers as an extra back up now that I've got my 14t sprocket back.

Used a thick elastic loop to fasten it on, but that needed retying halfway through the trip because the elastic lost a bit of elasticity and it kept bouncing out on the rougher stuff.

Also taped a foam pad onto the base of the can so the plastic didn't scratch my precious bike... also stops a fair bit of rattle.

The REAL question is should I make a new warning label for the can thats in german? because everyone knows warning labels always look more important if they are in german...
Thx for the info Sam! Yeah I looked at those 5L containers in SuperCheap today actually and I reckon you're right on the shape so i'll probs go for that one too!

Have you thought about ditching the rediculus little tool bag and bolting a rack on in that spot instead?

The 2006 KLX250R had a rack there as well as the tool bag and it seems like it would be way more useful than that little tool pouch!
    Cheers, Dave

    Just for you Nordie,another one
Had the camera on the wrong setting,so thats why it looks a bit blurry.

    Things done to it....
Well it has a very very loud Two Brothers pipe, which I'm sure some will hear on DB1K 09.
Nicely ported head,if it's not, then Yamaha did a damn good job on it!
No right sidecover and half a left one (weight saving you see,but not done by me).
Hacked up front mudguard, back been cut for better airflow to engine, front been done because I'd imagine some person renting it crashed it years ago.
    XR Indicators.
    Emgo hand guards.
Airbox mod - Back taken off and the stupid vents underneath that suck hot air have been closed up.
Rebuilt rear shock, progressive branded springs in the front with 20w oil.
    Trail Tech Vapor speedo.
    Acerbis plastic tank.
And about 120,000kms thanks to it being a rental bike for 7 years of it's life in the early to mid 90s.

The green one was the bike that got me back into Biking. Unfortunately it was a friday afternoon bike. A lemon. The dealer got to buy it back. This photo is over near Walter Peak looking up to Glenorchy.

I upgraded to orange. The KTM adventure is my Dream bike. A refined Beast of a bike. Like anything. The longer you know them, the more you understand how they work, or how to ride em! First photo at the church of the good shepherd at Tekapo. The second on the way there over the Hakataramea Pass. Nice fast gravel. The Ktm likes!
