    Highway foot pegs please...

Hi all. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of highway footpegs for the Kawie VN800 please? I am thinking they might allow me to stretch a bit more to sit a few inches more forward in the saddle and avoid bending my knees too much which can be a pain due to an old injury. Dont get me wrong, the VN is great to ride compared to my old sports bikes, but I am noticing the 'little' aches with older age.

Please look at my profile picture and you will see a engine crash bar which seems ideal to mount a pair at the top of these. I am wondering if you can get them which will mount on directly without the need to drill a hole into the frame? Like a d champ but more refined.

Ideally I would be interested in a secondhand pair if anyone has any laying around? I have several overseas websites but the prices are quite overboard for what they are. Appriecate any advice or help thanks.

highway pegs will lift your knees up higher and you got old injury now..they will add to descomfort...can always go off to bike wreckers an pick up a couple of motorcross springloaded pegs and mount then to chrome crash bar

Why do you want to sit more forward if bending your knees is a problem? Surely sitting further back would straighten your legs more. I found putting a Mustang seat on my VN800 put me an inch or so back. This allows me to get my right knee under my Kuryakyn air intake system. I'm just glad I'm not any taller.

i had highway pegs on the 500 i bought off nasty. they were an absolute godsend! pity theres nowhere to fit a pair on the 250, as i need them sometimes, for the same reason as you. i end up pushing myself furthur back in the seat, or else i hang my feet over the front of the pegs. gives just that little bit more room, and the bonus of pressing my bad knee against the engine head, which is helps if the weathers cold [knee is worse in the cold]

They are pretty easy to make considering they are just a bit of solid rod with rubber grip and a mount.

If you have a lathe, screw driver, and a drill they can be made.

I'd suggest forward controls though, rather then highway pegs. I know a lot of people don't like the feeling of forward controls though.

I think I will leave them for now as I just found out my adult study papers went up $200 each and start in FEB to MAY so I wont be going on any long tours for a few months now anyway. Study has to come first. Cheers for all the advice guys.
