Yep bad Idea! Been there on the CR250 before I bought the correct rear spring. What happens is you compress the spring to get the correct sag which shortens the stroke taking any plushness out, making it harsh with little travel etc = a horrible bike. I think you can get the picture.

I'm no expert but you'd probably be better with the wrong sag than preloading the shit out of the rear spring. Especially if your not jumping it and need to stop it bottoming out. Danger will no doubt have the correct opinion but I'd be leaning towards riding a bike that was a but soft for my weight with wrong sag than something wound up like a clock spring. But at 80kg rider weight your not to far off. Looks like I'll have a worse problem than you when I can get down south a pick the 08 up.

Who knows seems silly, even in their country the people aren't that small I don't think??
Rumour has it Danger pays them so he can keep his turnover up!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

'Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out! Shouting, ' Holy sh!t... What a Ride!! '

I think we must also say, that we are not bagging the standard stuff its still really good and ridable but tuning them for NZ conditions and your weight just makes them quite a bit better!

    Yep, true!

The more I know about it and the better I ride, the more I like the 200... and I loved it to start with!
    Cheers,
    Colin
