So sorry to hear of your terrible accident and injuries. I hope you heal well and quickly, but I guess you will be feeling pretty sore all over today, not just your poor arm. Glad that you are still here with us.
Glad you are both ok.
That great road is a fine balance between 'motorcycle nirvana' and 'accident thats found place to happen'.
Enjoyed it myself sunday week; thought to self at time: ' this is a risky place to have this much fun'!

i thought boaties were a dodgy bunch.. and couldn't trust them... now we all know...
glad your up and about...
what a ride so far!!!!
Shit sure does happen when you're not looking for it - happy to see things are sorta ok...dings and dents in bodies and bikes can be mended.
What time did this happen? A guy from work went up with his boat at about 11.00am,so if this happened around 10.00 ish,you got it cleaned up pretty quick,as he saw nothing.
This ride was a bit too ambitious for my first major outing on the R65,so did a 230km ride on bits of the Kaiaua loop.

Glad you're both still alive and well. We were just talking about those hooligan boaties at work today. How they can get as pissed as they like and STILL drive a boat and there's no law against it - AND they don't need to have a licence nor register the boat nor pay ACC levies......hmmm I feel a campaign coming on.
In space, no one can smell your fart.
Lol.. might be a good idea to find a better story to illustrate their evil ways. It seems the boatie may not be at fault. Sounds like he would have killed the downed rider on his side of the road if he hadn't braked and swerved. I likely wouldn't have done any different... and I'm not even an evil boatie.
Political correctness: a doctrine which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd from the clean end.
Totaly agree with you, I have had boats for years, when i started getting serious i went out and did my boat masters certificate which is a little like a drivers license for boating. I believe anyone who wants to be in charge of a boat should at least have a day skipper certificate. You cant hire a boat overseas without one so why should you be able to drive a boat here without some sort of training.
oops, off topic ..... sorry about that
