Peeteey, my XR6 has foot pegs bolted to frame so shes pretty good for the passenger BUT when 2 up my riding position focking suxs so ive taken the pegs of so i cant double
is this the XR you were looking at http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-298230986.htm
looks pretty good but through my own experiences dont trust "full rebuilds" make sure the reciepts are all there, even then make sure you get her checked right out.
    is this the XL http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-298549566.htm
both look very tidy, but they are getting on a bit.
for to up and more road work the xl would suit more as for off road the XL wont touch the XR, the XL is slightly heavier and i think the frame is weaker as designed more for more road than trail/enduro.
    after market tanks for both
helenoftroys DR sounds the right bike for what your looking at doing.

For those that have not come across it - there's a good article at the link for dialling in your xr650 suspension.

Yeah I hopefully have fixed my brake issue. I'll have to wait untill Greymouth to confirm if i'll die or not, its only on the street curcuits i'll have those sort of issues again. It appears keeping it rubber side down is more of an issue. Anyone got a set of plastic for a 650r lying around? hehehe

torpedo.co.nz has 5 pack of oil filters for the xr650r and other models on sale today $27.50 with postage

not sure of the quality but shouldnt matter too much since you have to change the filter so often

Awesome! XRs are multiplying in CHCH!
My boy Sam had his first off road play at McLeans Island on his last weekend, the bike is still filthy, must post some photos when its recognisable again.
The BRPs dont like being laid down...he was totally knackered from 10-15 mins of trying to start the beast....
So will there be another XR racing with Budda soon??

hold the decomp on for 10 or so strokes( no throttle) then try to start as norm, so ive heard.... my old DR BIG was like that as well.

Do you guys run stock gearing on your XRs?

Sams has had rego on hold & been just used for motocross/offroad stuff by previous owner. Its awesome in the technical stuff but has no legs on the seal

We haven't checked yet but it could be running on 13/50

Do you stay with 14/48 or go to a 15?

Sorry bout the questions but shes all new for us!
