there will be a clear screen to add to it.
might change the bottom mount to the fork clamp so theres room for an oil cooler later on maybe, and shes pretty wide at 250mm so might narrow her up to 210mm to align with forks and fork mounts..... might increase mount bracket height for strength...
will make another tomorrow... any other ideas to add

Looking good but again I think you need to sort out headlight before spending $$$ on alloy. Need to consider depth of light internals, width of light and is face plate at 90 degrees to ground so beam will be straight ahead? Looks at the moment like light would be pointed straight at your front guard as opposed to road.

Hey bud, be careful with screens forward and vertical, they cause a lot of buffeting. I spent hours experimenting with screens and for me they want to be angled back and only high enough to take the air off your chest but not direct it at your helmet.
    Have fun experimenting

yeah mate i hear ya, might shorten the metal and extend the plastic and curve it back, well at least make it so i can muck around with plastic rather than metal... the screen set up on the big was mint it was like small is better

Dino, you've inspired me to knock something up for the Dusty Butt, the buffering is a killer and any help for the 100 km will be worth the effort, I post my results up on Saturday!

cool mate, look forward to the photos.
i had a lazy day today. i'l go with Matts advice before i get to far into it and sorce the light im gonna use. Was also looking at how to mount a screen i dont think it would take much, would just need a bracket coming up from the same mounting points on the forks.

Thats the only thing i hate about the XR, when your on the road after a day on the metal or tracks heading towards home and ya start getting that pinch in the middle of your shoulders... the last ride i did we rode home from national park fark i was down to 70kms for the last hour was just to much after a weekend of riding.

shit that bleeted on a bit

It will be something quick, The 650R has a two piece headlight and I'll look at repacing the top number board bit.

    XR lighting

Hey guys. I see that some of you are thinking of changing the lights on your BRPs. If any of you wants to get rid of the original BRP lights let me know.

I have a crappy aftermarket headlight on my XR which is pretty much useless at night (those crappy streetfighter spotlights) and I was thinking that instead of risking buying an expensive aftermarket headlight still get the same crappy illumination, might as well find a cheapish OEM headlight assembly and bring the bike back to stock form.
