i dont buy OEM from honda nz anymore, to exspencive for my budgets.
These guys in Te aroha could be worth a looksey if your stuck for the odd part, there prices are better than Bluewing honda and some of there specials are pretty good.

Yup i agree about Ecohonda, still check OEM parts prices too. When I was fixing my VTR thou, the OEM sidecover was $80 less from the local honda dealer, Econohonda blew them outta the water on everything else i brought tho

It can't all be blamed on the dealers either, blue wing honda have had us all by the balls for years. Personally i'd rather support the locals before going to ebay or trade me, face it people, we NEED our local bike shops, but you gotta draw the line somewhere

non OEM parts are a lot cheaper from the local, but when they want to sting me $470 for a counter shaft when i can get it for $130us
some of the non franchise shops are pretty good for sorcing parts at better prices, demitris in morrinsville is a local on for me there half pet store half motorcycle accessories, they helped me sorce some odd sized bearings for the DRBIG in 2 days where suzuki took nearly 2 months and twice the price
but yeah i support the locals as much as i can but i think if it wasnt for places like trademe and the interweb i wouldnt be riding at the moment.
would love to spend 6 months riding in the US and buying up shit to bring back
