It might be interesting to XR650R owners and interested forumista, that both our XR's accomplished the ride from Chch to Hanmer, yesterday, on 7.3L of premium, each.

The odo was 150Km, so this equates to 20.5 Km per litre !....enough for 200Km on a standard tank....

We were both trying hard to out-economise each other too, but the outcomes were identical.

I got a safari tank for mine, never actually used it but put it on there to see what it felt like. Massive was my first thought. But it'd get me trough the Molesworth... if i ever got off my ass and fix that leaking radiator hose

I thought that quick wearing was just an XR650 issue, not a tyre issue
Have them on the WR for a go too.

yup only 1/3 tread left after the last dusty but fantastic tyre on day one and cant go past for the money.

Its harder to lose weight than gain horsepower.
