Anyone know please the sprocket combo you can run on the xr650r so you can run the largest possible rear sprocket for trail riding but when you want to run smaller rear sprocket for road riding you can do so without removing chain links ? Thanks

I run a 13/48 combination for trailrides that takes the rear wheel back to the 2nd to last notches on swing arm, rest of the time swap back to 14/48 combo...no need to change rear sprocket and chain length...with the XR's torque 13/48 will easily get you up any trailride hillclimbs. With 14/48 combo bike will do 150kmph...how fast you want to go?
    Hope this helps
NB: For my supermoto setup I run 15/45 which is same chain length

one thing i luv about the BRPs is the range of the torque , i can run from a 51 down to a 40 (48 stock for the 6) i run out of pull in top gear with 15/40 but ive already hit 150 in fourth

Ta for good info - Is this all with the stock 110 link chain ?

Read running the 13 is hard on chain slider wear, and if doing a lot of whoops etc over time starts to eat into the swingarm (Which is apparently hard to see, lye on your back material and look up) Suppose not seeing same action trail riding - have you noticed any abnormal wear running 13 front ?

I've done approx 30,000km on my XR's never had to replace chain sliders, as long as you keep good chain tension should be fine...not sure of number of links in chain, makes me dizzy trying to count them

On my TT350, I've done about 400hrs on the oem slider and it had already had 20 years of use before that. NordieBro wore an aftermarket one out after 2*3hr races...
