Seeing as I named my bike after a girl it'd hardly be fitting to refer to the VTR as "he" or "it". Plus the girl would kick me right in the beanbag.

Interestingly though, while I call my bike an 'it', I actually see all motorcycles as animate objects. That's why I secretly cringe while I watch the burnout competitions at the bike rallies.

Other bikes ive had are mostly shes. The older the bike..the more likely its a she. There is no method to my madness..just how it is. Current one is an 'it'. Its the bloody mozzie.

I'd agree with that... but then, my supermoto is all aggressive and loves being a hooligan... so its more male than female... maybe its confused? or me?

All my other bikes have been shes... my girl, etc... so confused on the current one. All it likes doing is scaring others and misbehaving... maybe its a baaaad girl...

    (and it was very dirty...)

I've named mine Bertie. No idea where the name came from it just popped into my head on a ride to Tauranga, and the name just stuck.

All my bikes are boys, they are my best friends, but they don't have names so they are "it" when I'm talking about them.

I think it's because when I was little and my sister rode horses, there was a male one there and I pretended to be it's best friend and I was allowed to go for rides on him
