Yeh Right! Depends on the thickness of the gravel and ur bike. I was fine until detoured around Arohena on a twisty country backroad gazetted 30kph. Wanker in a subaru did a possum bourne up the hillat me, I had to get out of his way....Ducatis DO NOT steer in deep gravel!!!! Few sports bikes do!!!!
All was fine till had to get off the smooth road surface, into the cambered deep gravel on the side...couldnt turn it,lost the front, bike dropped over a 4m bank. Busted shoulder. written off bike!!!!! Cost all up???? Losing $800 a week with ACC shortfall, losing $1600 on helmet/gear- shortfall on insurance payout. Losing $1000 on bike excess. Will cost me $3000-$5000 to replace bike!!!!Dont laugh at others till you know how there bike handles it. Shit does happen!!!!!
I normally set up camp on the side of the road until they've finished and swept any lose chip off the road then I carry on slowly.![]()
road works don't worry me,
but i don't like the stones that stick to the front tyre and gouge their way round the front guard.
Gravel? Fak that, my bike has never even seen rain, and it's gonna stay that way. Meooooowwwwwwwwwwww!!!
