Depends what kind of roads. Hop onto a motorway, and stick at the speed limit for a few hours... you'll get a good work out.
Back roads are much easier, as you are moving around, corners etc. A small screen to take the pressure off your chest will help a huge amount (tested it myself). Too big a screen, and you may find you get buffeted by it. Its all relative to the rider's size. What works for some won't work for others.
