Captain goes for a slide (my poor honda)

So yeah it finally happened, coming round a slowish bend in the rain, ran over what looked like some petrol, front went right out. Went for a wee slide, the bike hit the curb, I, thankfully, didnt.
Big thanks to Charlie41 for coming out on a cold wet day like that and organize the tow truck for me.
I'm perfectly fine, quasi jacket and some kevlar jeans did the job perfectly.
What a crappy day to bin a bike, everything is closed. And I had so many plans for the holidays, all of them involved me riding

Who know knows if I should be contacting the police for an accident that just involves me and no injuries and if insurance co (Swann via Kiwibike) is open for claims tomorrow?

No need to call the cops, you do that when some arse runs into you so that they get a charge against them!

I imagine the insurance hot line will be back on the 26th or 27th.

Good to know you are not injured.

Not gonna be the xmas ya wanted, but you have a good one non the less !
A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

Bummer man Major damage or just scrapes?

If you have crash knobs I'd be real keen to see the photos to see what got scraped as I'm thinking of getting some.

Give Dave and Donna at Kiwibike a call. They'll probably answer the phone at least (well tomorrow anyway) and should be able to send you a claim form to get the ball rolling.

Hmm... well I will give them a call tomorrow and confirm. Managed to get the claim forms online so now just have to hope they pick up their mail often enough.

Sorry to hear of your crash, Capt A. I hope you are not too sore today and that your Honda will soon be as good as new.

I've had a few crashes which required insurance and not one of them did I report to the police.

A mate got done for reckelss use of a vehicle, or failing to stay in his lane, or something after he crashed once.

Don't bother with the police if no one else is involved, or hurt...
