Biker down on SH2 south of Petone?

Was on the way to work in Petone and saw a bike being loaded onto the back of a transporter.

Looked like a Honda CBR1100XX, dark grey or black. I think that the rider was helping load the bike. Black leathers, dark grey helmet.

Anyone know any more. Didn't look damaged so I'm hoping it was just a breakdown.

Nah, Honda rider, see... hmmm... probably just thought the bloke driving the van looked dishy, flagged him down and asked if he could 'pop it in the back'.

    Yep

I saw him as I went past. I'm 90% sure hi just broke down. I was in the fast lane, and had no way of pulling over (like I wanted to...). Not that my car would have been much help!

You're just jealous. Some people ride a Honda and a Yamaha (not necessarily at the same time) and have twice the fun...

    I want a new car!

Biatch, my car goes plenty fast enough for a standard 1600 thanks!

But, I wouldn't mind having the dosh to get a new one. I was driving to work today, and saw a car like mine advertised for under half what I paid for mine 4 years ago... I'd be pretty happy with a new Honda S2000

    dribble.........

Holy shit, I forgot about that! It's a 1600, but is so light it's like a friggen rocket (for a cage).

They also look pretty funky. (They're even bloody lower than my MX5!)

I'd take the MX-5 anyday = how often do you get to wind it up on the road to the point where the Lotus would outperform the MX-5? That's what ya R1's for!!

I remember when I put King springs in my MX-5, could never get the jack under it, the WOF guy used to hate me cos he had to drive it up onto blocks of wood to get the hoist arms under it... oh, and there is the minor issue of the constant questioning of my sexual preferences...

and yet I still want to buy one again!!!

The idea of the lotus is to go around corners, not fast in a straight line... which is the whole point... twisties at 80kph in mx-5 or twisties at 100 (speed limit for pi-cock) in a lotus?????

    .

We saw him around 7.10am, in the l/hand shoulder. Looked like a breakdown - bike was on the stand and he was bending over looking at the engine. We were in teh left-hand lane but didn't see him till we were right beside him as we had a huge truck in front of us. Couldn't stop as there wasn't enough room for the car to park further along where we would have stopped.
