Biker down on SH2 south of Petone?

We saw him around 7.10am, in the l/hand shoulder. Looked like a breakdown - bike was on the stand and he was bending over looking at the engine. We were in teh left-hand lane but didn't see him till we were right beside him as we had a huge truck in front of us. Couldn't stop as there wasn't enough room for the car to park further along where we would have stopped.

I'm not sure but I think it may have been a ZZR? I don't think it was a Blackbird.

I don't question a Lotus could hand it the MX-5 around the corners, but the limits of an MX-5 are pretty damn high. The "80k" corner in the 5 might well be a 100k corner in the Lotus, but you'd be friggin mad to attempt it on a public road with two-way traffic - I mean, what if WT and the boys were coming the other way? They'd be farked and your new paint on the Lotus would be ruined!!
