Well, if Red Baron are selling it, and you're quite keen on that particular one, book a full mechanical check at Mt Eden MC, get the bike over there, and get a report. Can't go wrong.

just to be perdantic power figures are always given in kW, ps, or Bhp for motorcycles - never use HP.

The reason is that there are two HPs, english and metric - one is 0.9863 of the other. The other reason is tha HP is only measured at the crank, so unless someone has had the engine out of the bike, it should be done in Bhp which is measured at the rear wheel.

Yea I will take it in for a check at Mt Eden when I go to have a better look, I was just wondering if it was about normal for a ZXR dallas (nice guy) was explaining how the CBR's dyno in at 35ps in comparison but the ZXR's torque and powerband is more explosive which lets it keep up..

klutu I would have got the RGV but A. Didnt have enough of the munies, and B. I'm scared of your one :P

How much do Mt Eden MC charge for a full mech check and a valuation? May buy a bike private but want to have it checked and the finance co also wants a valuation.

They CBR250RR should pull the same amount of hp as the ZXR right? I'll have to dyno mine sometime...

I was told by the guy who has a dyno here in Christchurch that ZXR250s usally put out 33hp at the wheel. How many k's has it done? When I was looking for mine I test rode one that felt like it had half the power of mine, especially down low.

    Hi,
Its a fresh jap import - 16,826k, so it is in the correct area of BHP then (32.8ps) so it must be ok, I have a feeling it wasnt re-jetted when they fitted the pipe so I will re-jet it and see if that helps the situation.
and also as said previous all Dynos are abit different, maybe your mates one has less resistance to movement, or reads slightly high or maybe the barons reads abit low.. who knows, I will find out when my mate goes and has a look today for me, thanks for your imput though

Just out of interest, what's it worth for a run on the dyno?
