How do I put a tank pad on?

hi ya,
i've googled etc... but i still need help..
got an Oxford tank pad, and would like some help/tips on applying it..
i've read something about soapy water so that i can move it round before letting it stick, any elaborations on this?

yep, soapy water can help, you just have to work the pad until all the water comes out.

Your best bet is:
- Remove the pad from the packaging
- Remove the sticker back
- Holding pad, position above the tank in ideal position
- Starting at one end, apply tank pad (to avoid bubbles)

What I've done in the past...

1st: Take out of the packet and position on the tank where you would like it.
2nd: Use small pieces of masking tape (approx 2cm long) around the outside of the pad, in several locations so that you know exactly where the pad will need to be.
3rd: Measure from side to side of the tank so that you know that the pad is exactly on the centre line. Put an extra piece of tape on the pad and measure the pad + mark a centre line.
4th: Revert to original instructions and wipe tank down with Meths, prior to applying pad from the bottom, working your way upwards and out from the centre, so as to keep any air bubbles to a minimum.

Work slow. Be precise.

Pretty much what I did, cept I used a chalkline to mark the centre of both tank and pad.

i have lots of bubbles under mine, dont do what i did.
not that i can remember what i did?
maybe i started by drinking the meths?

If you have a bubble you can cut or put a little hole in it then basically flaten the bubble out.

How you stick it on depends on if you can live with knowing it's crooked... and some people can't.

Personally I would encourage a few friends to get them because they're a great idea and watch as they do theirs first. At some point it will become easy and you can stick your one on. lol.

just clean area well remove the botm of sticky backing put in place step back eye it up once the botm stuck just remove backing and slowly let it fall into place then get s soft rag and give it a good rub and dont do it in the sun of if tank is warm

I usually just peel off the backing and stick it on. Never had any problems.

If you have one of the 'oxford humpback' ones though, throw it away. I bought one, it wasnt even sticky, and there was actually no way of attaching it.
