Well only that because I was doing fifty in sight of a 100k sign she must have assumed that I was going to continue to hold her up on a 1400cc bike 10 seconds later when we hit the 100k zone.
More in line with your story, I can't help wondering if my little scenario had gone horribly wrong with several people injured, would people automatically assume that simply because a bike was involved in the carnage, that I was obviously at fault, to some degree.
Perhaps that has more to do with paranoia from reading all these biker down threads where (some) people will assume that you are always, somehow, responsible for the circumstances you find yourself in.
Oh bugger
Yes indeed, biker down threads become so opinionated very quickley, (I dont post in them) keeps the Mods on their toes thats for sure.
If I had of been hit/clipped by 'vanman' yesterday, eye witness reports would have pointed at me for doing something 'wrong'...in their eyes, thats my opinion anyway.
All I can say is the pithy catch-all KB phrase :
"Burn them."

Lifes Just one big ride - buckle up or hang on
Assumably you have cracked the code of the way I see it...we all can make an assumption that the other person is wrong....mmmm not always right.
When you put it like that yes!
But I was there and saw it unfold, as did a few others probably, and who said anything about 100mts??....or riding on the white lines?..I mentioned it yes but, sooner or later, when passing other vehicals, you will at some stage ride on the white lines, I was not riding along the white lines, I am not that good. Once again, an assumption has been made and that is how easy it is done.
I could have said something like....''riding his arse''...or....''riding on the edge'' none of which are true, it is litterally speaking!
The views expressed above may not match yours - But that's the reason my Dad went to war - wasn't it?
Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, .... but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out,... shouting "man, what a ride"!!!
I still fail to see how, after admitting to riding on the wrong side of the road (no matter how far), and riding on the white lines, then, having the cheek to lambast the van driver for "blasting his horn at you" (thats what warning devices are for). Then, you try to tell us you were riding safely...
When life throws you a curve ... Lean into it ...
apparently a few years after you go bald your distance judgment ability starts to fade. A side effect of getting old I'm afraid.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

" Life is not a rehearsal, it's as happy or miserable as you want to make it"
Unless they have ridden a remotely newish bike, car drivers have absolutely no idea at all how quick a motorcycle can move. Thus a passing maneuver that you consider safe often looks like utter madness to the oncoming vehicle.
Having said that while driving my car I have witnesses plenty of acts of utter madness by motorcyclists passing on blind corners, too little gap etc etc.
I myself have been guilty of a few 'questionable' passing maneuvers over the years.
I recall a incident years ago, up Nelson way, when I was on a open road corner at speed and found on the exit a car going much slower. And a truck on the opposite side of the road. I ended up in the grass edging - still travelling at some speed, fishtailing like mad with a rooster tail of grass and dust flying up from the rear tyre.
I remember to this day (as it appeared in slow motion too me) the expressions on the faces of the cars occupants as this crazy motorcycle passed them on the inside, on the grass.
I entered the road ahead of them and disappeared, pants somewhat squishier than a few seconds earlier.
I was lucky, as were the car occupants, who just as easily could have had me implanted in their boot.
I assume they thought I was an idiot, and they were correct.![]()
