Warning - diesel spill J'ville/Newlands (30 Dec)

Take care if you are riding through south through Johnsonville, or heading up to Newlands from the motorway.

It looks as if a bus has holed it's tank coming out of J'ville Mall and there's a trail of diesel from there, around the roundabout by McDonalds and then down along the main road to the Newlands bus depot.

Could be a problem if you come across it suddenly or it rains later.

Came across this tonight as well, saw emergency services there on the way through but they had gone by the time I came back into Johnsonville they had gone leaving a huge amount of Diesel still on the road, and no warning signs whatsover bar a couple of cones on the roundabout.

One of the guys I saw there initially was a bike cop too, you'd think he'd have enough sense to make sure it was dealt with a bit better.

I saw that tonight. I'll ring the Council to complain about the piss poor clean-up. More should too. Maybe something will happen.
