    Crikey!

I wondered why RiB had been so quiet. He's got a girlfriend that isn't a horse!

Well done on thrashing that poor bike to dea... err lavishing care and attention on a magnificent machine over so many kilometers!

Do you have any idea who the first owner was? I had a mate that bought a new one about that time.

Well It didn't belong to whom I thought it did.
But I can tell you it was owned by the Court Bailif and he was a fussy bugga, replaced it with a Goldwing from memory and now has just bought a new BMW big arse touring jobbie.

Thanks for the info, its awesome finding out where bikes end up.

Yer I am thinking about a newer bike, but at this stage I can not afford to replace "her".....So far only a ST1300 has felt better to me, but unless I win Bonus Bond (I don't do Lotto) or I inherit money from a rich Uncle, it will be a long time before I could afford one of those.
Well a year later and only 9,239 miles (about 14,785km) "Roxanne" and I am still riding together. 89,082miles (Approx 142,535Km) on her clock now. Would have been 1,000miles less had I not gone from home ta Featherston and back ta Tauranga yesterday ta pick-up a top-box Nice ta know we still have it in us.
Still want a ST1300 but can't find a rich Uncle ta knock off Looks like another year before I will be able ta get a ST, so hope she holds out for me.
Still "she" has worked hard for me, and still not a bad ride

Crikey Doug you're an inspiration to me.

The RF now has 70,000 miles on the clock and I was feeling that's a lot but it looks as though Roxanne is gonna go on forever.

Well done for sticking with her.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

Stayed in Christchurch until 14/12/2001 and then moved up to AK. I bought her on the 16/2/2004 with a little over 30000miles on her clock. 1 year later she has over 45890miles on the her clock, so in 1 year we have enjoyed over 15000miles with each other and done in 1 YEAR 1/2 of would she has covered in 14!!!!!. Looking forward to taking her South in March to visit her old stomping gounds.
Happy Anniversary "Roxanne". May we enjoy many more miles together

That's only 5,833km a year. You should get out more!

Words may be your strong point Hitcher, but not maths. If you're talking about mine, in June I'll have had it three years.

It had 43500 on the clocks when I got it. So we're talking Just under 30,000 MILES in just under 30 MONTHS.

or more like 20,000 kms a year.

Awesome. Good ta know the "Riffer" has been getting plenty of useMoney has been tight the last year, so my riding time has been down. Have stuck with "Roxanne" for so many Miles because I just can't afford what I would like. At the end of the day "she" is a good ride for me and handles my "mood" changes well.
Bloody laugh today, riding out with all the Tau Riders with their new bikes, with "Roxanne" packed down with enough gear ta break a pack horse's back, riding ta Whangamata and then through ta Kopu ta get ta the Paeroa Steet Races

And that, my good sir, is the exact same reason for my sticking to my bike.

I could get myself in debt easily enough, throw a new bike on the mortgage, but to be honest a newer bike would be at best 10% better than what I have at the moment.

The RF still ticks all the boxes so why should I get rid of it?
