    Good stuff Mrs C.

    One question though...
Why do you need to put a lock on the 9 at all?
Tis a Yamahahahaha G. Just thrash it like you stole it. Gixxer 4 ever
It really did look very unloved. Specially as it was next to the R1 that the whole crowd wanted to look at. Gixxer 4 ever

Cool sounds nice! Maaaan you shoula saw me doing the BHS...

I didn't know the bike was in 2nd gear, hence the continuous stalling + 4 bump starts due to drained battery.

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.

Nice bike to learn on,guy I worked with had one back in 1984 brand new, went bloody well.

CWGIRL for next bike I take it?

An IT200,shit I had an IT175 1979 model(swapped for my XR200 1980)and that got up and boogied, loved the power band kicking in,but hated pre mixing the fuel.

Showing promise first serious time out, piece of piss for bhs and learners.

Woohoo Mrs Cowboyz, I read the Misters thread yesterday

Just looked at your piccys and wow for a first ride that looked really good you looked so and relaxed.

I am used to being on the back but have decided it is time for me to learn to ride and get my own bike and seeing your piccys and seeing other ladies ride just wants me to go get my license pronto

Well I finally have time to do a write-up yay.....

I was nervous and excited at the same time as I have wanted to learn for quite a while and when dogsnbikes suggested we borrow "norman" (I have no idea why he is called norman, dogs may fill in why) I was very keen.
Anyway Norman arrived this morning and I raced inside to get my gear on.
I had no reservations about Mr Cowboyz teaching me as he had taught me to drive the cage as well, and I must admit I think I do that pretty well too!!! ;-)
As I was strolling across the road towards the carpark I was thinking of all the things that could go wrong....like how many times I am going to stall before I get it going, whether I will pull on the throttle too hard and lose the bike, etc etc.
I jump on the norman and think oh nice height, look over the bike and notice on the right a kickstart!!! Aaargh!! Lance had to kickstart it for me the first few times but I am getting the hang of it now.
The throttle and front brake are definitely my friend!!!
I started doing a few u-turns and figure eights and was getting used to norman pretty quickly, I didnt think it was going to be so easy.
One hint lance gave me was to push down on the outside footpeg when doing a small u-turn just to get it tighter, that helped alot.
After almost an hour my hands and wrists were getting very sore, I was putting too much pressure and leaning on my hands rather than sitting upright more and having my legs hug the tanks (as lance suggested), maybe the 9 isnt safe after all!!
Still on a bit of a high I had to race into work for a couple of hours and was keen to get back for some more training.
Had dinner and got straight back into it, Lance had looked up the basic handling test and had me do some slalom and a bit more speed on the corner to see how I corner. I did that for almost an hour just doing slalom and coming out of it with a bit of speed to do the corner and back again. Loved it!!! The best tip lance gave me was to look ahead to where I want to go a few seconds, absolutely brilliant, got my confidence up heaps and I was properly committing to the corner, rather than turning then turning again.
Jumped off the bike and Lance tried to convince me to go up saddle road. I said hell no!!! We decided to do a little pootle around ashhurst. All in all I came home with no probs at all other than one stall. A little bit more practise and bring on the basic handling test!!
    Thanks for the congrats!!
Its all good when its green

    WAIOEKA GORGE ROCKS!!

You'll piss in the basic handling.

Good to hear a success story on learning from partner, many said they couldn't or wouldn't.Remember those English docos on failed license idiots, guys couldn't back, manoevre etc.

Norman(the morman)bike for weekends and meetings.
