When I bought my XJ650 2nd hand in 1983, I paid $4995. That was probably pretty close to 6 months pay for me. If you look at what you get today for 6 months pay, the increase in power, handling, tyres, brakes, suspension and so on, bikes today are actually damn cheap.

having recently got back into bikes I was stunned at how much we could get for our $$$$$

My last bike choice (6 months ago) was between the Striple and the KTM... I bought the KTM...

Hitcher Mark did tell me you bought one..how is it?
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead
Do not walk ahead as I may not follow.
Do not walk beside me as the path is narrow
In fact FU*K off and leave me alone
