    Umm.... what?
Seriously, what? How am I a troll for posting a relevant bike for sale in a thread about said bike going up almost three grand, obviously if they're looking at the prices they may be some what interested and I believe my bike is a beauty and I always put KB'ers before TradeMe'rs.

The problem is economy of scale.

If you sell fewer bikes in a smaller market, you need to charge higher prices to make it worthwhile.

Firstly, new bike sales are as high as they've ever been in NZ at the moment and I would guess that our consumption of new models is high on a per capita basis. Besides, this isn't the 1960s - we operate in a global market place and it's not hard to look at incremental jumps from year to year and compare with overseas pricing. My bike itself last year cost damn near the same whether you bought it here, Australia, US, UK or even Thailand. In fact NZ pricing was more competitive than the US and UK cause of high demand.

My argument is that this particular increase on this particular model is porportionally way out of whack.

Your link does'nt work and I have tried the usual method of searching on TM and I can't find your bike on there.

Don't get me started. The Trade Me administrators have taken it down. Something to do with being in breach of their terms and conditions. Apparently all of my questions can be answered by reading their FAQs page. I don't want my fucking questions answered, I want my advertisement back up. That, it appears, costs $1.99 a minute. This, on top of the $50 I "invested" last evening to get the bloody thing there in the first place.

I had a bad experience over four years ago when I last tried to sell a motorcycle on Trade Me. The scabs have been knocked off those wounds and I am not well pleased...

You must have done something to get it removed?

Indeed. Not being able to remember my account details from my last Trade Me foray, I created a new account. This, it transpires, is in breach of Trade Me's terms and conditions. That I have been able to deduce from reading their FAQs. It does not, however, do anything to get my advertisement reinstated. Why their software doesn't spot this state of affairs whilst one is creating an account appears to me to be a bit of a deficiency on their part.

I am teetering on the brink of being extremely fucked off.

    Getting back onto topic...
Get used to price increases. A product that I import has had to go up by 20% due to the Euro Vs the NZ Rouble.

Expect to see increases in imported household goods as well. Whiteware will be leading that charge!

Bike prices. Well we have seen the tip of that iceberg already.
