It was on one of those 2 fast straightish bits where you can pass cars safely.

Skinny guy, dark complexion, longish black hair riding a yellow VTR.

Stopped to see he was OK and offered a ride / phone. Seemed to be under control, had the bike off the road, big pool of oil / coolant, bike looked fucked.

He reckoned he was just going too fast for the conditions (well, thats the case in every crash really) but it was on a straightish bit.....

We were holding up traffic so we left him to it (he said he was sorted)

There are at least 3 or 4 places to do that on a bike on the seaward side.

Heading into the little gully (tight)

2 places on the climb up the escarpment (best place as heaps of visibility)

After the lookout point before you go back down through the gut but you have to do it on the bend and be quick on the throttle (not to mention cover the brake)

Even Vicki feels safeish on the back doing that... OMG Perhaps I'm a raving looney after all...

Saw his bike imbedded into the bank on the way to work this morning about 8:15am. Didn’t see anyone about and it looked strange that the bike was still sitting there with a pack rack on still – also looked ‘fresh’. Turned round further up the road and came back just in case the guy was still lying in the creek or something. Two guys pulled up in their cars too and we were looking about for a bit and went into the house opposite to ask about it – nobody home. Then we heard the tractor coming up the road. We gave them a lift with getting the bike on the tractor tray. The bike looked a mess – bits of fairing all over the show. Chap next door came out and said the guy was okay, “he’s drinking a cup-of-tea right now”.

I go that way to work everyday and I don’t recall seeing that bike being ridden round there before (yellow Honda Firestorm). Got to work ten minutes late and got ‘told off’, lol – f&!$@#@ w&$@ers . Got told off for being late in on Monday too because I had stopped to help a lady change her front tyre who was parked uphill (was worried about her jacking it up without the car in gear ).

I think there was another accident on the other side too, where the road is reduced to one lane because of that slip. There’s the telltale paint marks and oil stains on the road. Hope that wasn’t a biker also! I guess it must of happened last night or very early this morning as I didn’t notice it the day before?
