    New bike prices

Well I had begun my new bike pricing, however I have decided to hold off for a while check out these upcoming 09 prices:
My jaw dropped, I was expecting an increase but not this much
    09 ZX6R RRP $17895
09 R6 RRP (Next Shipment) $18k approx (Can get current shipment for 17.5k)

    I stopped looking after that.
So If you are in desperate need of upgrading at the moment, grap an 08 as the first 6 months of 09 look pretty pricey.

$500 really isn't that much of an increase. Particularly with the monstrous Tax Cuts we'll be getting.

09 zx9r is a completely new bike so a price increase over the last model can be expected (im sure it's come down since 07) - as for the R6, it a 2% price increase - ouch!

Anyone who pays ticket price for a new bike at a shop is selling themselves short.

Yep - what rips your panties more is bikes like the CB1300 that could be picked up for $13k are now $15. Exactly the same ride other than a different colour option.

Ok, Im not sure what some of you are working on, but I will explain in more detail.
Current Zx6r can be had for 15k, when it was first released in 07 it was 16k. The new model is 17.8k. I see that as a significant price increase.

R6's, have always been pricey however there are a small number of 09 early shipments for around 17.5k, but the next shipment will be over 18k. BUT previous to this a new R6 could be purchased for around 16.5k (maybe cheaper), again I see that as a significant increase.

If like me you generally upgrade bike every 2 years, you will notice a distinct difference in changeover price.
2nd hand prices will increase however not immediately.

Exchange rate hasnt helped, was a cross rate of about 68 then went to 50 now sitting at 58 ish, I expect it to go down as low as 40 in the next 12 months, and if that happens expect a lot more than $500 increase.

We brought some cover so could hold our prices infact some went down, but next year expect to be paying a hell of a lot more for your gear and bike habbits people.

Sounds like a good time to buy an Aprilia SL750 Shiver...

Indeed, I will be looking at the Shiver, KTM 690 and maybe something else?

The Striple could be an interesting place to look...

Indeed a head-to-head comparison of these three would be "interesting".
