    Argentinian Dakar pics

Just looking at some pics from the 2009 Argentina Dakar. Check out the guy riding on his back rim without a tyre - thats commitment . Lots of Yamahas and KTMs - can't see any Hondas

Yeah those guys have some serious commitment! The Aussie, Simon Pavey, who lives in the UK and is riding a BMW X Challenge, also blew out his rear mousse on Stage 10 - he rode the last 200km without a rear tyre! He came in something like 5hrs or more after where he had been finishing each stage and dropped from 47th to 80th overall but hey he finished the stage and lives to ride another day! AND on stage 10 he wasn't even the last one back, one more rider came in after him!!!!

Watching the daily video clips, the scenery & terrain are just awesome, but I think those guys are either all stark ravin mad OR some of the bravest men on the planet! Particularly the guys up front like Coma & Despres who ride every stage flat out - bonkers!
    Cheers, Dave

Yeah amazing video photography. And as I read it these guys are doing around 600km a day in this country! These guys must be the world's toughest athletes.
