    24-day Argentina Patagonia motorcycle tour

Our friend and tour guide “Faccundo” from Argentina is running a limited tour of Patagonia during November. This will be 23 day tour covering 7,500 kms of very spectacular scenery. The trip is $6,100 USD and covers motorcycle hire, gas (reliable and well maintained Honda Transalps ) , accommodation , and most of the meals. Accomodation on our last trip was very nice.

Having done similar tour in 2006 with my wife it was a trip of a life time and most likely the best way to see Argentina. Some of the best parts of the trip is immersing yourself in a different culture. By going with a tour guide you'll pick up so much more about the culture and history and with having a tour guide you'll get to communicate better with the locals. Much of Argentina is unspoilt and has fantastic scenery (Check the start of the movie Motorcycle Diares for a taste). My wife and I will go back for more tours in the future (We can't do this November due to work commitments)

I've attached Faccundo's tour doc. Any questions about travelling in Arginetina then ask me / mail me or contact Faccundo. http://www.buenosaires-caracas.com.ar
Some of the photo's on the website is from my wife and I's last tour.

Even though I am weighed down with work commitments & family obligations I feel it's my duty to take part in this tour as a fundraiser for the local girls brigade biscuit drive.

But hey I can only do this with your help!!! Contact me now with your pledges for donations towards this worthy cause & if I raise about $10 000 then I will put it towards the trip & any left over will be gladly passed on to those poor little lambs

Dont delay - the suffering is happening now!!

Wow! That's tempting. Maybe we could ride the FJR down from Los Angeles and ship it home ex-Buenos Aires...

Facundo runs a number of different trips each year , When we approached him he did a custom tour for my wife and I and worked in with our dates.. He will also cater for larger groups and arrange a back vechile if needed. The nice thing about his trips is he puts most of the tour fee back into the Argentina economy. He is very pasonaite and proud of Argentina and makes a point of taking you off the tourist track. We found the people in the small towns exteremly friendly and thankful that we had choosen their country to tour in.

You'd need to pick your route carefully for the top of South America , you might go missing in Columba,.

I've signed up. Be a change from the commute into Wellington. Fewer cars, but I expect the wind to be the same!

    Frodo,

Looks like we can get the time away from work. We'll be joining you on the tour. Best you start those Spanish lessons ! "Botella de cerveza" is a very handy phraze to know.

I believe this tour is now full. However , please contact Facundo or visit his website regarding other tours he has advertised. I'll also post any special tours that he's arranged as they come up.

Sorry for the late reply. Would pay to check with Facundo via his web site (or I can ask him in a few weeks time). Some of the trips take the seasons into account in terms of weather conditions. We went down to the start Patagonia in April 06. The guco's where moving stock out of the Mountain areas around that time so I'd suspect the snow session would start soon after.

I rode down that way this year late March. It was getting quite chilly especially down Tierra Del Fuego. Doable but wrap up warm.

Thanks Aslan. Would like to get a bunch of the "Lambton Bikers" around for an asado (BBQ), cervezas and Malbec.

I've added a few more days to the trip report. May take some time to complete...
