Yesterday at about 2.45 pm, while driving over the Styx Bridge with my kids on board an idiot on a blue R6 decided he would ride between 2 lanes of traffic, at speed (about 10 cars) with a pillion on the back. Your black singlet made you look even more of a tosser.

that he was lane splitting? or maybe didn't have all the gear? Possibly that he had a pillion?
Or is it just that you were stuck in traffic wishin you were on your bike and he reminded you of the freedom it brings?
Your rant is a little flawed as you haven't said that he was dangerously lanesplitting pulling wheelies while the pillion was hangin on for dear life ( is that not the Carver way???) (no offense to Carver without him we'd have no benchmark)
I certainly like to think that if I was lane splitting (which I do all the time in CHCH) that kids in a car would be happy to see a large motorbike roaring past them giving them a little of the excitement we get from pursuing our life choices. Nothing better than seeing the grin on their faces

Geeze you lot, I agree with Muppet, it is worth a comment, who gives the R6 the right to put a pillion at risk and other road users when he splits traffic at speed? and not wearing the gear doesn't just mean he suffers if he comes off it means everyone involved has to see the mess...

My partner and I have just come back from a ride to Tauranga from CHCH and the traffic was fairly well behaved... however 800ks into the ride a couple of Harleys decided to split the traffic...we were in a line nose to tail travelling about 70km/h a bit frustrating,..edited(on a two lane highway) but a nice day and time for a look around... when two Harley's pass us travelling about 80-90 km/h down the centre line with traffic approaching in the opposing lane..they were both two up... they niether considered their passengers nor the fact that a cager could have easily moved slightly right to get a better view still be in their lane (unaware an idiot was approaching), and cause the bikes to swerve right into the opposing traffic.... this continued for a time which included a bend...a bloody worry and total disregard for others... half expected to turn up to a mess... so no it's not about whether they upset Muppet, or didn't wave or whatever it's about what everyone else has to experience in the process... and if the maneouver fails it's about the shocking mess we all have to deal with.

Maybe he was taking his pillion to a hospital to help save a young child's life, as he has a rare blood type, and is the only one in NZ , that can help.

Maybe they were gay Iranian lovers being chased by their families , who had just burst in on them rooting, hence why they had a t shirt on, and they had to run for their lives.
