    Hi people
Happy grinning girly here.... Well I left Welly about 11am yesterday and struggled through the nasty gusts of wind blowing me all over the road - tried to take advice of someone at WMC to just ride faster but there was heaps of traffic. Wasn't til I got through Bulls that I was able to start having fun!!!! And very pleased to report that there was not a in sight (thank goodness). Bike is attracting heaps of attention. Stopped at the shopping centre in Wanganui and soon had a crowd oohing and aahing over the beast!!! Will be leaving Normanby at 9am and am very excited at the thought of the twisties coming up. Weehee. Will do another update when I get to Auckland!

Congrats mate. I know how exciting the whole new bike thing is. Have had mine finished for nearly 3 weeks now and still want to ride it all day every day.
Not a bad looking machine for a Zooki either....................

By all accounts an uneventfull hoon which is good to hear.

Who's this happy lookin' bird on the Suzuki?
Nice pic WT ... and congrats to RR on her new steed. Brilliant!
Mrs Ninja51 is after a Suzuki S40 (LS650). Have you sold many of these and would you recommend them? She is rather lacking in the inside leg department (er... I think I could have phrased that better!) but what does anyone reckon on these as a "Return to biking after a few years" bike?
    All comments welcome.

    Cool

    Stevo.....

It means that Mrs Ninja is short.... and her legs are short.
So she needs a bike with a low seat....
Oh you boys never read between the lines do you ...lol.

    Mr Ninja,
    How tall is Mrs Ninja?
Better still how long are her legs... as that is what is important to get the right size bike for her.

Go and get the tape measure and measure her inside leg and that will help.
    Ask her first....lol

Im being serious here..... (I have a 28 inches inside leg.) and i find that being short (4 foot 12 inches tall) that I am unable to ride many bikes due to also the width of the seat. So this can make a huge difference to the type of bike that she will want to ride and be comfortable on.

I made it back to Auckland safely, just in case anyone was worried. Met up with Soundbeltfarm at Normanby at 9am. He rode as far as Urenui with me - thanks mate, it was good to have some company. A guy on a BMW rode past us as we said goodbye, so I caught up with him and overtook him and the five trucks in front of him (because I have the power to do so now). After that he sat on my tail for a while, until we got to the first lot of twisties and I slowed down quite a bit while I figured out how the bike handles on twisties (I've got to stop cornering like I'm on a cruiser). Once we were on the straights again I took off and lost him after that. The roads through the gorges are fantastic - good condition and the scenery is spectacular.
Approaching Hamilton I was suddenly overtaken by the Hamilton Welcome Committee (aka Quasi) on his red 636. We rode into town and met Mrs Quasi for lunch, before I headed back to Auckland. So a great run today, weather was fab, and the bike handled really well. My verdict? I LOVE it :love2: Everywhere I stopped I had people coming up and perving at my bike, and asking lots of questions. And I got lots of waves from other bikers, and rode quite a bit of the way back to Auckland with another bike I caught up to. Can't wait to go on a KB ride now - I won't be slowing everyone down now!!!

I have first-hand experience with a short-legged woman who rides motorcycles. And it's not just the leg length (lack of) that poses bike-riding problems. Shorter people are proportionately smaller than taller ones (Yes, I have been nominated for a Nobel Science Prize for this remarkable discovery). This means the bum-on-seat-to-handlebar-scrunched-over-the-tank ratio is also smaller than for taller folk. One-word summary: Uncomfortable. Four-word summary: Uncomfortable and potentially dangerous.

The only thing you'll be able to ride comfortably and safely is a cruiser. And that's not a bad thing either. There's more to life than sportsbikes...

As it was 18 months ago, the pick of the cruiser market by a country mile (they have mph speedos and odos) and then some, is still the VZ800 Marauder. Hopefully Suzuki haven't fucked up this package with the yet-to-be-released Boulevard M50.

    Ride one, you'll love it!

And to think that you didn't seem keen on a Suzuki! We'll get you on a gixxer yet. Enjoy the SV 110%. Going to Paeroa?
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
