    Humbleness .... fuck ...

You'll be dam lucky to get Discretion ... if you don't keep your mouth zipped and be polite.

    Absolutely agree...

Problem I have is the " if in doubt give a ticket " mentality that seems to be quite common by people wearing blue

Ironically, if you were capable of being humble, you wouldn't fail the attitude test and the cops would not seem like cunts!

Also, what is this, dredging season?

Now I'm not disagreeing with the above two statements. But I've found that after 30 years of driving/riding on 3 continents, the blue brigade in NZ is rather reasonable to deal with, provided one doesn't start off with a chip on ones' shoulder from the outset. Exceptions exist of course, but have you ever been pulled over for say speeding in Switzerland? Crossing a double yellow in France? Nah, I'll take the kiwi copper any day.

    Funny thing happened this morning.

A young guy on a moped overtook my marked Popo car on the left hand side.

The discussion was going okay until he started telling me I should be out catching a murderer. Up to that point I was considering treating the thing as an educational opportunity. As soon as the attitude deteriorated so did the chance of a warning. The foul language was a clue too.

    Anyway, ticket issued.

This may be too soon, but you should've taken his keys. Obviously a tourist.

Indeed. being marched to ATM to PAY NOW is a bit humiliating.

And I remember an occasion on a KB ride (some time ago admittedly), when a member who appears earlier in this thread was radared at WELL over 200 kph not far from the Okorire pub and given a ticket for 139 kph.
On that occasion, the cop was a biker too, but it demonstrates what attitude and courtsey can achieve.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.

Attitude and courtsey? When I was at College they never taught us to courtsey.

Freudian slip perhaps. Think I'll leave it as it is

    Shocked and stunned

If the cop doesn't listen and insists on issuing an infringement notice then take it, email the Police Infringement Bureau and they will cancel the notice.

If you are upset about the cops attitude etc this can also be done by email and it will be addressed.

I am very surprised this has happened. It sounds like the Constable was attached to Auckland Motorways and if he didn't know should have asked. I often Police that T2 lane because there is always someone who thinks they are more important than the rest and wants to push in. I have stopped bikes there before, but that is to tell them that they should be using the T2 lane.

    There's always one isn't there.
