T2 Lanes again!

Aren't they for parking when not in use as bus lanes?

Unless marked for parking (or not marked, like dotted yellows), they revert to a standard lane. Like any regular road with no parking restrictions, you could have vehicles parked on the left, and therefore the lane becomes effectively unusable.

I don't believe Auckland has taniwha issues, but you may like to ask those who live in Waikato...

I seem to recall a multi million dollar study into how to deal with the taniwha in the estuary in Mission Bay? Blocking a planned redevelopment of the walkways between Mission and Mechanics bay?
I can't find the actual study but did find this in the waterfront plan for auckland.

Precisely, a lane is only a bus lane when the sign indicates that it is... the remainder of the day it is the lane nearest the kerb and can be parked in or driven in...

And back in my car days I'd skip so many queues when people didn't read the damn sign!

The Tamaki drive transit lane in a great queue jump - T2 6:30 - 9am. Usually still a queue after then though so just jump in the big empty transit!

What luck ... I have two ... two or more vehicles ... one is even a motorcycle.

I'm just glad I'm not in Auckland .... in Paradise I can go by myself (if I choose) anywher I want on the mainland roads.
