Dude turned up to test ride a bike I had for sale

his mate parks down by the neighbours & does the homie walk down my driveway. Gives the bike a 2 sec glance then sez "have you got a helmet so I take it for a ride?" so I ask to see a drivers license "ohh, sorry I forgot to bring it", then advise him that he should have his own helmet as most bikers dont let anyone else wear theirs & Ill need to see a license first anyway. By this stage theres no way in hell he's getting to bugger off with my bike but Ill see how far he'll push. So he wanders out to talk to his mate & sez he couldnt find his wallet in the car (funny coz he didnt even look) & could he just take it a hundred meters or so. I reply that if his mate brings his car into my driveway & gives me the keys to his car while staying with me Ill consider it. needless to say he walked off without another word except for "F**K YOU!!" as they drove off. Funny thing is he had all that time to express his intentions towards my bottom but never told me to my face... poor wee closet homo

Awesome story, and good on you for giving him the ass holes.

Sounds to me like he was going to nick it, or couldn't even ride.

Should have taken down the cars reg and make a po po call to let them know theres two guys fishing for bikes!

Fuck me, most bikers don't even let others try their bike unless they are really close friends!

    What a douche bag.

What a moron first rule of test riding is turn up with gear & license in hand, be prepared to hand over your own keys while doing doing so.

    eek

What a loser. Good thing you had the common sense not to let the fool ride away. People don't like to be judged on appearances, but when they present themselves as dodgy losers, what else do they expect.
On the other hand, if someone turns up with a helmet, gear, a licence, and a good attitude, you're more than happy to let them test ride, if you're selling.

Guy like that I'd insist on payment in full in cash before even letting him touch the bike.

Also I agree with the ones saying get the plate. Chances are they'll try that on more than one person.
Put out the word to keep an eye out for these characters.

So i guess the key is to find some bike gear, steal a nice flash car to suit said flash bike and leave the stolen car as collateral to steal the bike, if one was that way inclined of course.

Good on ya for not letting them near it without ID, i believe that is the key component to being able to prosecute the aholes if they are dodgy.

lol, yeah all that to steal a 1987 Katana... I'm not saying it wouldn't be worth the effort mind... But the time spent getting ready for the heist you could earn the money to buy it

If anyone wants to take your bike for a "test ride", take a photograph of them first. Everyone has a cellphone and a large percentage have a camera...

Make references to "Crimewatch" or "Police 10-7" if they do not re-appear and then see if they are still keen.
