    Full licence

Not sure where this thread should go..

Got my full licence on Wed 31st. Borrowed a GN250 because the speedo's not working on my RS250. It was a completely different machine, with a late biting clutch. Bugger all top end power, but what was there did feel solid.

I did it in Howick, took the GN250 ages to get there from Mt Albert. The tester was pretty cool - he gave me a radio which made it a lot easier - not like when I did my restricted - when I had to check my mirrors every 10sec to see where he wanted me to go.

The tester clearly just wanted to get on with his xmas break, so it was all sweet really. He loved the head checks.

I won't be upgrading just yet as I'll be lending the RS250 to my girlfriend so she can ride it till she gets her full, as I can't afford to own more than one bike.

What is up with this? I had the same experience and how on earth are you supposed to concentrate on the road when you are trying to watch the indicators of the car behind you

I had an intercom with the guy when I did my full - he followed me in a 4wd. Just had to nod to tell him you heard the instruction.
Had the "look in the mirrors" thing when I did my restricted test - right pain in the arse.

Had a radio for both restricted and full. invaulable. sat my full just before xmas. Its good when the tester is relaxed and puts your mind at ease.
I had some dickhead testers when sitting my cage licence.

easy test really huh? Good work. Yeah the radios are the best way, my instructor suggested to me to watch my mirrors for my restricted so I politely suggested that he "have sex and travel" (fuck off) and tell me where to go and what to do and pull over for new instructions every couple of corners, he agreed and it was fine.

On my full I had the radio and it was bloody good, in fact I think if you book in and ask and they don't have it you should really go somewhere else nowdays as there are planty that have them now.

Obviously, but if your studying the vehicle behind you for directions (that statment in itself is fucked really isn't it?!) your not really paying attention to what's happening in front of you as well as you should be......when your checking your mirrors you are'nt searching full on to see where the car behind you is indicating......your looking at a whole picture right? (my mirrors are'nt great on my bike maybe you have really good ones)
