    What's that ripping sound?

    Oh yeah, it's my undies

So I finally have that precious piece of paper (my learner license ) in my hot little hands. I go to the house where Mr Motorcycle lives at the moment, thinking "Yay, first legal ride!". Take Mr Motorcycle out of the g'rage and proceed to attach the 'L' plate. Look at rear tyre and go "What the hell is that!". Oh, its just a hole in the sidewall with a nice bit of inner tube bulging out of it
So no rideys for me and another bloody week before I can get out on the road and start terrorising Palmerston North

    GAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

And we have no idea just how the hole got there.......

    Bugger, feel sorry for ya

You have to be 15 to apply for the basic handling skills course right, well the course in Lower Hutt is held every second Saturday, my birthday was on the Sunday after the 'second Saturday' they ran the course. I had to wait another 2 weeks

    Congrats!

It's a great feeling innit! Pity about the tyre, a very odd hole indeed. Vandalism possibly? Full marks to you for spotting it, you'd be suprised how many people COULD miss that (me included!).

    It's great!

Well we wondered about vandalism but it's been garaged most of the time, apart from the odd foray to the supermarket :spudwhat: The tube seems untouched too. Beats me.

It was blind luck spotting it, but I'm glad I did. A blow-out on my first legal ride would have been really bad!

Personally, I'd forget the chewing gum in hole method, and just replace the tyre (AND tube if necessary - will be weakend by being squeezed through the hole). Safety first, financial stability later. This I have learned, and accepted.

Hey Ang !! Long time no see !! ... That wheel looks like the rim has suffered a nasty thump at some stage !! There is a bit of chipping beside the hole .... Have you clipped a kerb by chance ???

    Hey!

No, I haven't clipped any kerbs. Not to say that someone else hasn't of course.

It could've been like that for ages and remained unseen, we're not getting out much at the moment.

Awesome news, I'm too afraid of making an arse out of myself to get my learners.
