This is a great route - twisty hills where big holden drivers finally learn that something just over half a litre capacity but weighing less than their cart sprung cut-down trucks has no chance.
I'll try the tunnel once for the novelty value, but I like to have an interesting ride and will stick to the old route and its amazing views thanks.

We all know that police only patrol where they can catch speeders - so they are more likely to be patrolling on the new m/way extension than on the Waiwera hill - thus leaving it the perfect 'safe' route to ride home pissed after a few jugs at the Puhio tavern

I know the people who built this bridge and they've told me that it's free for motorbikes, and drove past it in the weekend, the signs said $0.00 for motorbikes... but then I suppose it is subject to change![]()
