Now this is farking cool and I like it... Im not usually into revamped Guzzi's http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=205708028
cheers DD

I like.......apart from the seat...
"...you meet the weirdest people riding a Guzzi !!..."
I'm glad you said "normally" - the floating disc carriers don't have any markings at all! (apart from my alignment punch marks!)
your call.....
I agree with nudemetalz about the seat!
I think it is a Corbin king and queen seat and they are really are comfy. Looks sometimes can be overlooked on a long ride. Wish I had the $$ to have one. Those Guzzi seats usually come off with 2 bolts and the wiring clip anyway. The Mk3 seat foam tends to go rock hard over the years. Well the few high use ones I've seen have.
* years ago I priced pretty much the same type of seat for my Mk1. It was going to be over $750 back then for plain black and over $800 for 3 colour like the flag.
I really like the rearsets, just because they are not the usual aftermarket types used often. Saved the picture for that reason- they look simple to make.
Blast From The Past Axis of Oil
I have never had this problem either, with any Guzzi's so far.
As with the oil level. I would trust the factory, they test the things under all sorts of conditions- sober and after lunch.
There is a lot of technical meanderings to be found on the web. Take it with a grain of salt mate- it's still ok to evaluate other opinons. Sometimes people have more time on their hands than most and they are often the ones with time to spend online typing out articles and how-to stuff. The big book is pretty good I have to admit but there is not a lot of V11 related stuff in it yet. Give him a few years...
Blast From The Past Axis of Oil
The brake disc's have to be check by someone in the know, they have the manuals and know who to ring as it is their ass that is on the line if they get it wrong.
I know a guy that use to do the check, so I would not bet on it.
And if not sure, they will reject it.
If anyone is trying to bring a bike over, bring it in a standard form and life will be a lot easier.
And bring your trick bits in a box and change it back after you have the VIN and sell off the stock parts here.
Then you remove the problem of the tester having to make a call on a part he has not seen before, to pass it or not.
If you have to many parts that he may think they are not legal he will just reject it.
So the bun fight will start.![]()

thanks for your comments - the thing about being standard worries me as I will be replacing the entire exhaust system soon with a full stainless steel system - how would this go down?
Anyway, it's back to being roadworthy again, but I will need a new rear tyre very soon.
The second picture is the other v-twin that I run - it also needs a new rear tyre!
Some one else in the know would answer your question better.
I think the main pipes will not be a problem.
It is the muffler part, I think it must have a non-removable baffle and be below 90db you may get away with up to 100 I think if certified. (more money)
So if you could find a muffler with lots of nice numbers (crap) on it for Vin-ing you would be OK?
Or could borrow one over here for the VIN-ing.
And then put your complete stainless system on.
WOF (every 6 months unless under 3 years old then once a year) are not as tuff as VIN-ing (once really unless highly modified)
Your second bike may take a bit more to get VINed and on the road and does not look like it would like ours tight hilly road.![]()

I was thinking more the Te Rapa straight - canterbury plains are out - those damned right angle railway crossings would get me!
There is an outfit near me which produces stainless systems for quite a few models, don't know if they certify them or do any decibel tests, though.
Have a look at www.ospipes.co.uk.
Toughen up man.
We put them in to give us a few extra corners to play with.
I think that they would have to be certified here, is less it was a tester they approve of.
Just make sure it is under 90db and you can not remove the baffle.
Best of all, E-Mail a VIN out fit over here and they should beable to give you the good oil.
