Outstanding customer service in the bike industry

This relates to my previous thread about my bike not starting:

Went to the shop that normally services my bike and was told they were booked solid until the 2nd Feb

Not only that, but they had no where to store my bike between now and then, so I would need keep it at my home until the 2nd

Problem with that is we live at the top of a big hill, and the bike was sitting at a petrol station down the bottom of the hill.

So, I politley said I would have to look at other options for getting the bike fixed

Off down the road I go to Wellington Motorcycles, where I was told they could look at the bike on the 1st Feb :disapint:

Started talking about the bike problem (dealing with Clint) to see if it would be a simple job, but there is no real way of knowing without actually looking at the bike.

Clint popped out to the Work Shop and came back saying they could collect the bike today, maybe look at it before the weekend, but probably mid/late next week

This is a great result in my book, and a big relief in at least getting the bike off the street, cheers Clint

Good to hear this sort of thing does happen too. Hopefully the problem with your scoot wll be quickly sorted with the same 'can do' attitude

Hope it all works out. Nothing worse thatn waiting for your bike to be fixed. Who do you normally take your bike to (I'm not interested in starting a slanging match - there's usually a lot of work on at M/Cycle shops this time of the year).

Yep, they said when summer starts and people get out on their bikes more often they find problems/faults that need fixing. So the shops can get busy.

Sawyers was the first shop, its not really their fault they are busy. In fact being that busy probably means they do good work (I have not had a problem with them in the past)
But maybe they need more staff and storage space if they are that popular.

I'm not sure that it's a very good idea to post this sort of thing. It could be considered irresponsible to comment on a business on the internet, there is no right of reply and the content is slanted to someone’s feelings....

Yep that was my point. No slagging. I know a couple of guys who run their own shops and know how difficult it can be fitting everyone in, and keeping their customers happy.

Why not ?
There I was thinking that that is what forums are for, opinions, biased or not.
if your afraid of getting your feelings hurt, the Internet isnt the place for you.

WMC is very good. They actually seem to go out of their way to provide good service. Regardless of wether you are buying, selling or fixing.
the point being, provide good service and you'll recieve good feedback.

He may have missed the other thread about the Canadian and the wrecker...Hmmm, sounds like a starting line of a joke. "This Canadian walks into a motorcycle wreckers and says..."

WMC are awesome for making time to sort people out in a pinch. WT kindly got the workshop to make time to have a strip down of my bike motor and gearbox when I was here last Easter and 6th gear crapped out. Big ups to WMC, nice to see everyone gets awesome treatment.

Thankyou for the kind words, Kendog. Clint's relatively new here and it's great to be reminded of how a little effort goes a hell of a long way.

I know I've been guilty in the past couple of weeks of not having the brain engaged. (Sorry Merv!)

Subtle innuendo aside, as I am not sure of your true intention with this post :unsure: so bare with me.......

Are these forums not designed for us to express our feelings and experiences, be it about a ride, our bikes, the buying of a new bike or the service we recieve in relation to our bikes.
If it was not for the open and honest communication displayed here these forums may cease to exist, as members would not be encouraged share theirs, and share in others pleasures and pains.

It was not my intention to run anybodys business down, in fact when I read over my posts I do not believe I have done so.

And there is always a right of reply available in a public forum such as this, just look at the post from White Trash above, cheers WT

It gets better, not only did my bike get picked up today, but they were able to find and fix the fault today as well

So again a big thanks to Clint and WMC

Not another whole B&B fuel tank saga again OK? I disagree with the "no right of reply" comments too. This is a public forum, it is only necessary to become a list member in order to reply, and if the issue's a big enough one and the business has done at least one posting motivated member proud then word will get out to them. I think they have the same right of reply as all of us.
